Garrett Hunsperger

Garrett HunspergerGarrett Hunsperger, 58, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2005, in the Cancer Institute at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, MO. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob, Rd., Olathe, KS, followed by a Remembrance of his Life at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be given to The Incidentally Fund, in care of Stanley Bank, Stanley, KS, a memorial fund established in Garrett's honor for the nursing staff of the Cancer Institute at St. Luke's Hospital. Garrett found calm serenity on a fishing boat, laughter and joy with his delinquent friends, love with his children and grandchildren, and the combination of them all with his adored Terry. Garrett leaves his wife of 35 years, Terry, of Stillwell, KS, his sons Jim and Jaclyn Hunsperger of Gardner, KS, Jeff and Erica Hunsperger of Kansas City, MO; Papa's darling and dedicated crew of grandchildren, Alix, Peyton, McKenzie, Ben, Gage, Jacob and Emma, his mother, Marjorie Hunsperger of Raymore, MO, and his brother Robert Hunsperger of Blue Springs, MO. Garrett cannot be summarized in a paragraph. He was a man of honor, integrity, honesty, compassion, humor and love. It was our privilege to be a part of his world. His life and his love for Terry set a new standard for us all.
